Sake

Dear friends,

It is with great sadness we need to let you know that yesterday we had to put Sake to sleep. After 22 years and ten months, he’d come to his time. He will always be in our hearts; please say a short prayer for him today.

Bob

I’m quite sorry to hear this. Two months ago, a very good friend of mine had to put down her cat of 17 years. It broke her heart. Luckily she has another one. Plus she bought a kitten. But pets are part of us.

Hello Bob,

I’m very sorry to hear that. When you have pets they become part of the family, and so you have my sympathy for your loss.

22 years is amazing for a cat, he must have been very well loved and cared for.

All the best,

Mike

I am sorry for your loss Bob. We had to put to sleep a dog that had been in the family for 21 years just a few short months ago. I will say a prayer for you all. God bless.

Bob,
I am so sorry to hear this. I remember Saki from my visits — he had that wonderfully imperial demeanor that only a well-loved cat can acquire. I know you and Tina were quite fond of him. It sounds like he had a good and full life. May he rest in peace.

Though I don’t know you, I’m very sorry for your loss. It’s a cruel reality that these creatures we love so much only live a fraction of our lives.

I hope you and your family are doing OK today. That is really hard. On the positive side, try to focus on the fact that there is an 8-out-of-9 chance that Sake is now living one of his other lives.

My brother just lost his cat over the weekend. He and his wife are taking it pretty hard. They only had it for 5 years and never knew how hold it was. They picked it up from a shelter I think. Apparently it got some form of cancer. He lives in California, and for years, he would send us weekly pictures of the cat being silly, sleeping on top of his warm monitor, or just hanging out. Cat always slept right next to him. It’s never easy to have a pet go.
