Ian - you are absolutely right. The really big thing developers need to understand is that microISVs can go toe-to-toe with giant ISVs and clean their clocks. But they have to do more than just code software.

B2C - Sell your first license for $40; buy yourself a cup of coffee.
B2B - Sell your first license for 25K with a consulting engagment at 50K; get yourself an office, add staff, hire a sales person, etc…
I’m not saying its easy, but the first sale can make a company.
